KAIN, born in York County, April 17, 1852, is a son of John and Susanna (May) Kain. He attended the common schools, and began teaching in the various schools of the county at the age of seventeen. After teaching about five years he began a course of study under Dr. J. M. Kilmore, of York County, preparatory to his profession of veterinary surgeon. He located in Manchester, York County, and in 1882 removed to Hanover, where he has since practiced his profession. He was married, in 1878, to Miss Caroline, daughter of Henry and Sarah Bower. They have two children: Herbie B., born in January, 1879; and Charles E., born April, 1880. The Doctor is a member of the Lutheran Church.
