NEELY (deceased) was a son of William and Jane Neely, natives of Ireland, who emigrated from that country to the United States, and settled in Lancaster County in 1833. He was born November 11, 1836, and at the age of twenty-three, located in Centreville, Lower Chanceford Township, and engaged in stock-dealing, and the purchasing and selling of valuable horses. He was a well known business man of York County, and a successful and esteemed citizen. He was married, in 1861, to Hannah J. Colvin, daughter of William C. Colvin, of Centreville, who died February 23, 1883. Mr. Neely died May 30, 1884. Four daughters are descendants: Lizzie J., Maggie C., Mary A. and Cora.
