Our subject was reared on the home farm, attending school until his majority, and in 1879 taking charge of the home place. The same year he married Annie (Caroline), daughter of Robert C. and Lydia (Livingston). The only child born to this union is now deceased. The farm contains 135 acres, ten in woodland, the balance under cultivation, and improved with substantial buildings.
