It is believed that the Meisenhelder's immigrated to this country in 1751.  Apparently, George David Meisenhelder arrived in Philadelphia on 24 Sep 1751 on the ship Neptune.  He settled in Lancaster Co. where he and his wife had three children.  George died in 1757 and is believed to be buried in "the place of Michael Kaufman" on a farm somewhere in Lancaster Co.  His son David bought a 200 acre farm in Dover straddling the Fox Run just southwest of Bull Rd. in January of 1787.  While most of the land was sold off over the years, a portion was set aside as a burial ground for the Meisenhelders in 1882.

The following excerpt regarding that burial ground is from David Quickel's "History of the
Meisenhelder Family of York County, Pennsylvania."

    This fenced in plot in the center of a field known as Meisenhelter's Burial Ground where in
1945 we saw the following tombstones.

    Several sandstone markers with no visible marks are in this burial plot which no doubt mark the places where the following persons were buried.
