Prowell Burial Ground Fairview Township, York County, Pennsylvania ________________________________________________________________________________ These cemetery notes were recorded Darlene Prowell in the year 2001. The cemetery is on private property and the owners are not to pleased to have folks stop by to often. The cemetery is located in the middle of a poison ivy field, so getting to it is an adventure. The cemetery is in half decent shape. The stones are very old, some are laying down, some spaces without stones, some broken stones, but the owner of the property does keep the grass down. It has a fence around it,very old, with no gate. But then the goats that wander through the field make regular trips to the cemetery, as we could see their path. So I suppose they help keep down the grass. I have read these stones as best I could, some are very difficult to read. Capt. William Prowell March 1754 September 10, 1811 Rev. War Veteran, Capt. William Prowell. In the year 2000 a new Grave Marker from the Veterans Assoc. was ordered with a Rev. War emblem on it and a New Flag. Some of Capt's decendants were very proud to have placed this marker and flag on his grave. His stone as of this date was in very good condition and still standing.
