CRAUMER Jacob LAUMASTER, administrator of the estate of Jacob CRAUMER late of the Borough of York deceased filed his Bond in the the sum of $3000 with John GARDNER Esquire as his security, Continued for the faithful appropriation of the proceeds of the sale of the real estate of the said Jacob CRAUMER decd. and presented the following petition and statement, to wit: To the Honorable the Judges of the Court of common Pleas of York County, now holding an Orphan's Court in and for the same. The petition of Jacob LAUMASTER administrator of Jacob CRAUMER, the elder, late of the Borough of York deceased, Humbly Therewith: That said Jacob CRAUMER deceased died intestate leaving to survive him nine children, to wit: John, Elizabeth intermarried with Jacob RUDY, Philip, Sarah, intermarried with Jacob SPANGLER, George, Jacob, Daniel, Margaret intermarried with William STINE and Catharine intermarried with Daniel GODYEAR, and grand children by Mary CRUMER, who was intermarried with Henry LAUCH (the said Mary being now also dead) That the personal estate amounted to $227. and the debts due by the estate are as follows: To Daniel CRAUMER book account (lately sued & Judgment thereon obtained) of $362.00 costs of $6.12. Henry SMALL book account $8.00. George SMALL & sons book account $542.--and Doctor John ROUSE book account $7.00 --------- in the whole amounting to $388.54, leaving a deficiency of $161.54 against the estate to pay which your petitioner has no personal assets. That said deceased, died seised in his demise as of fee, of a lot of ground, containing in front on Main Street in said Borough of York 55 feet, and in depth 230 feet, with a dwelling house and nail shop thereon erected, and bounded on the east, by property of Sarah LOTTMAN, on the South by an alley, on the West by property of Catharine METZEL, and on the north by said Main Street. Your petitioner therefore prays your honors to grant him an order to sell said real estate, for the purpose of paying the debts of said deceased and making distribution after such debts are paid of the balance and amongst the heirs and legal representatives of said deceased and make report of said sale ..according to the law. And as in duty bound he will pay. SIGNED: Jacob LAUMASTER --------- appeared to court 6th May 1833 --------- Whereupon the court on due consideration approve the security given by Jacob LAUMASTER the administrator of Jacob CRAUMER deceased, and order and decree, that the said administrator, after first giving due and legal notice of the time and place of sale, do expose the said presented to sale at public vendue on the premises and sell the same in two or more parts to suit purchasers to the highest and best bidders, and make report of the next Orphan's Court thereafter. ******************************************************************************** Source: Orphans Court Docket R, 231 & 232. York County, Pennsylvania Written: August 6, 1833 York County Pennsylvania Orphans Court Docket R, 231 & 232 6 August 1833 ADMINISTRATOR's REPORT, Jacob LAUMASTER estate of Jacob CRAUMER deceased of borough of York --- 30 CRAUMER The Report of sale of Jacob LAUMASTER, administrator of the estate of Jacob CRAUMER deceased was read to the court setting forth as follows to wit. To the Honorable the Judges of the Orphans court of York County. Jacob LAUMASTER administrator of Jacob CRAUMER late of the borough of York deceased respectfully Reports that after having given due and legal notice of the time and place of sale he sold a public sale or out cry in pursuance of an order of a former Orphan's court the real estate of said deceased in two separate parts or lots. The part on which the house stands being the western moiety of the lot of ground of which the deceased died seized was sold to William STINE for eight hundred and fifty dollars and the part on which the shop is being the eastern moiety of said lot was sold to Philip A. SMALL for the sum of four hundred and ninety six dollars. The said sums were the highest and best prices that could be obtained and the said William STINE & Philip A. SMALL were respectively the highest and best bidders for the same. The said administrator prays hour honors to confirm said sales. SIGNED: Jacob LAUMASTER August 5th 1833 ------ Whereupon the court on due consideration of the premises confirm said sale and order and decree that Jacob LAUMASTER administrator of the above named Jacob CRAUMER deceased so make and execute deeds of conveyance to William STINE & Philip A. SMALL the purchasers aforesaid respectively for the premises sold them vesting the same in them their heirs and assigns as and for the same estate and in as full and ample a manner as the said Jacob CRAUMER the intestate held and enjoyed the same in his lifetime subject and liable however to the payment of the purchase money according to the conditions of sale.
