Battey Publishing Co., 1886. _______________________________________________ LIST OF TAXABLES IN 1783 – Page 699 In the county assessment and census report of 1783, Codorus Township was then reported to have 199 dwelling-houses, 189 barns, 9 mills, 6 negro slaves, a population of 1,304, and 27,975 acres of land not vacant. The population at that date was quite dense. The township furnished two companies of soldiers for the Revolution.
