A few years ago there were two more schools within the limits of the township (One at Myer’s schoolhouse, and one at Siddonsburg schoolhouse), but they have been discontinued. There has been a great deal of interest infused into Sunday-school work since the organization known as the Upper District Sunday-school Association of York County, composed of Sabbath- school workers from the townships of Monaghan, Carroll, Franklin, Washington and Warrington, which meets at least once a year. Mount Pleasant School is superintended by W. A. and W. W. Myers; Ida L. Cannon is secretary. Number of pupils, 112; teachers, nine. It is kept open the entire year. Andersontown Sunday-school is superintended by H. M. Traver; H. S. Moore, secretary. Number of pupils, sixty-five; teachers, seven. It is kept open nine months of the year.
