GRANTEE (buyer): John H. LANIUS written: April 21, 1865 recorded: July 14, 1879 location: Hopewell township by lands of Conrad BADDERS, John H. LANIUS, John DAVIS cost: $75 acres: 3 acres and 110 perches This Indenture made the twenty first day of April A. D. eighteen hundred and sixty five Between Conrad BADDERS and his wife Fawn Township York County and the state of Pennsylvania of the first part and John H. LANIUS of Hopewell Township County and state aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that this said the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of seventy five dollars lawful money of the United States of America unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the second part at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold aliened enscoffed released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargains sell alien and scoff released convey and confirm unto this said party of the second part his heirs and assigns. All that tract or parcel lying and being situate in Fawn Township York County Bounded and limited as follows Beginning at a stone thence by the lands of the said Conrad BADDERS North East twenty one and three quarter degrees west thirty seven perches to a stone thence north nineteen degrees west fifty perches and five tenths to a stone thence by a lands of John H. LANIUS South six degrees East fifty six perches to a stone thence by land of John DAVIS South forty four and three fourth Degrees East thirty seven perches and three tenths to a stone unto the place of Beginning Containing three acres and one hundred and fifty perches of land neet measure Together with all and singular the improvement ways, waters, watercourse rights liberties privileges hereditaments and appurtenances whatever thereto belonging or in any wise Appertaining and the reversion and remainders unto issue and profits they are all of and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of them this said parties of the first part in low equity or otherwise house whoever off in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold this said Three acres and 150 purchase of land neat measure with the hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned and intended to so to be with the Appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and behof of this said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever And the said Conrad BADDERS and Hannah B. his wife and their heirs executors and administrators to by these presents covenant grant and agreed to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that they the said party of the first part their heirs and all singular the hereditaments and premises herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against them this said parties of the first part their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim to same were any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever defend In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals Dated the day and year first above Written. LANIUS the sum of seventy five dollars in full of the consideration money therein mentioned. SIGNED Conrad BADDERS Test. Moses LEIB York County Ss The twenty first day of April A.D. eighteen hundred and sixty five before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared the above named Conrad BADDERS and Hannah B. his wife and in due form of all acknowledge the above Indenture to be their act and deed and desire the same might be recorded as such and she the said Hannah Being of full age and separated apart from her said Husband by me thereon privately examined and the full contents of the above Deed being by me first made known unto her did thereupon declare and say that she did voluntarily and of her free will and accord sign seal and as her act and Deed and Delivered the above Indenture without any coercion or Compulsion of her aforesaid husband. Witness my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid.
