Pennsylvania, York County, Recorders Office, Deed Book Volume 5W, p. 165-167 "This Indenture made the thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventy one Between William McCandles and Sarah Ann his Wife of the Borough and County of York and State of Pennsylvania of the first part and Charles Busey of the Borough County and State aforesaid of the Second part. Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in Consideration of the Sum of One thousand dollars ($1000.00) lawfull money of the United States of America unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the Second part at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and Confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release and Confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns. All that certain piese of ground with a Rough last dwelling house thereon erected Situate on the South Side of West Philadelphia Street in said Borough Bounded on the North by said Philadelphia Street on the East by property of Abraham Rudisill on South by property of Anthony Gresley and on the West by property of Edward T Lynes Containing in front on said Philadelphia Street Twenty feet including the one half of a three feet alley and extending back Southwardly the Same width fifty seven feet and six inches to said Gressleys property It being the same property which David Watts and Jane his wife by Deed dated 11th day of April A.D. 1853. Conveyed unto said John W Buckingham and Rebecca his wife by their Deed duly executed dated the first day of April A.D. 1867. did grant and Confirm and Convey unto William McCandles"..."Together with all and Singular the Building improvements ways waters water courses lights liberties priveleges hereditaments whatever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining [and so forth...]" Sealed and delivered inthe presence of us Sebrecht Treager.
