All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ The text below immediately follows the deed of Peter LITTLE to Ludwig MILLER, which is dated 18 Jan 1769 S Edie Shff to Tritt Samuel Edie Esquire High Sheriff of the county of York in the Province of Pennsylvania to all to whom these presents shall come Sendeth greetings Whereas James Smith Esquire lately in the county Court of Common Pleas at York to wit, in the Term of April in the thirty second Year of the Reign of our late soverign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine by his plaint and by the judgment of the same court recovered against Andrew Ledick as wiell a certain debt of one hundred pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania as forty five shillings and six pence which to the same James Smith in the same court were adjudged for his damages which he sustained by occasion of the detention of that debt And whereas a writ of fieri facias of our said Lord the King issued out of the said court of Common Pleas at York aforesaid bearing date the twenty sixth day of April and in thirty second year of the reign of our said Lord the King and to Zachariah Shugart then High sheriff of the county of York aforesaid directed whereby he was commanded that of the goods and chattels lands and tenements of the said Andrew Ledick in his bailiwick he should cause to be made the debts and damages aforesaid and that he should have that money before the Justices at York before said the last tuesday of July then next after the date of the said writ to render to the said James Smith for his debts and damages aforesaid and that writ at which day the said Zachariah Shugart de ____ a plantation and tract of land whereon the defendant lately dwelt situate in Monjoy Township end of page....
