Sam'l Johnston Recorder This Indenture made the seventh day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy five Between George MILLER and Catharine his wife, John SCHNELL and Anna his Wife all of Reading township in the County of York and Province of Pennsylvania, of the one part and John SMITH Esq. of Warrington Township in the county and Province aforesaid of the other part Whereas a Certain Jacob YOUNGBLOOD lodged Money with Thomas Cookson Esq. to procure him a Warrant for one hundred acres of Land including his improvement in Reading Township as in and by receipt for the money under and signed by the said Thomas Cookson bearing date the twentieth of April which was in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty seven may appear And whereas the said Jacob Youngblood afterwards by an Instrument of Writing and or his Hand and seal and for the consideration therein mentioned did grant bargain and sell all his right and title of in and to the said Improvement unto a certain John Frey and his assigns as in and by the said Instrument of writing bearing date the second day of March which was in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty nine may appear And whereas the said John FREY afterwards obtained a warrant in his own name from the the (sic) Honourable the Proprietaries of the Province aforesaid for one other hundred acres to be surveyed to him adjoining his other Land in Raading township over Susquehannah then in Lancaster County but now in the county of York aforesaid as in and by the said Warrant bearing date at Philadelphia the twenty sixth day of June which was in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty nine may appear And whereas the said John Frey by his indenture under his hand and seal duly executed and for the consideration therein mentioned did grant bargain and sell all and singular the land held by virtue of the above Recited Receipt and the land held by virtue of the above Recited Warrant unto the above named Catharine and Ann then by the Name of Catharine Frey and Anna Frey Daughters of the said John Frey the said Catharine having since intermaried (sic) with with (sic) the said George Miller and the said Anna having also since Intermaried (sic) with the aforesaid John Schnell and situate in the Township of Reading in the County of York aforesaid, adjoining the Lands of Francis Hodge Philip Shriber, Thomas Creeswell, Joseph Brown and William McKelheny To hold unto them the said Catharine Frey and Anna Frey their heirs and assigns forever as in and by the said Recited Indenture bearing date the eleventh day of November which was in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and Seventy One. Relation to the above Receited Indenture touching and concerning the sale of the above Recited Land being had will more fully and at large appear. Now this---Indenture witnesseth that the said George Miller and Catharine his wife and the said John Schnell and Anna his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania to the said George Miller and John Schnell in hand well and truly paid by the said John Smith before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof Do acquit release and discharge the said John Smith his heirs and assigns forever by these presents they the said George Miller and Catharine his wfie and John Schnell and Anna his wife Have granted bargained sold released conveyed & confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release convey and confirm unto the said John Smith his heirs and assigns al and singular the herein before mentioned two tracts of Land lying contiguous situate in Reading Township aforesaid bounded by lands of Francis Hodge PHilip Shriber, Thomas Croswel, Joseph Brown and William McKelhenny. Containing by computation two hundred acres of land be the same more or less together also with all and singular the ways woods waters rights liberties privileges passages improvements hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to to (sic) aforesaid land lying and being within the bounds aforesaid hereby granted belonging or in anywise appertaining and the riversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof To have and to hold the aforesaid tract & parcel of land as above bounded and limited hereditaments and premises above mentioned or intended so to be unto the said John Smith his heirs and assigns and to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Smith his heirs and assigns for ever and the said George Miller for himself and Catharine his wife and the said John Schnell for himself and Anna his wife and their heirs Do covenant grant & agree to and with the said John Smith (to wit) that he the said John Smith his heirs & assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold use occupy posses and enjoy all and singular the herein before described tract or tracts and parcel of land containing by computation two hundred acres hereditaments and premises with the appertenances without the least hindrance, molestation, interruption, and denial of them the said George Miller and Catharine his wife, and John Schnell and Anna his wife and their heirs and of all and every other Person and persons whatsoever and fees and discharges from all other bargains sales, gifts, grants, mortgages judgements and executions and of and from all other charges estates rights titles troubles and encumbrances whatsoever had made done or suffered to be done by the said George Miller or Catharine his wife and John Schnell or Anna his wife or any other Person or Personal Lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents and or andsubject never the less to the payment of the residue of the purchase money interest and quit rents and other reservations thereon now due and hereafter to become due and to be reserved to the honourable the proprietaries of the Province of Pennsylvania their heirs and ____ IN witness whereof the said George Miller and Catharine his wife and John Schnell and Anna his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Sealed and Delivered in the presence of us George Miller seal unreadable German signature Catherana Miller (her mark) seal Hon Flagle ?
