Affidavit by John Beatty, July 31, 1820, York County, Court of  Common Pleas
Certification statement by York County Clerk, July 31, 1820. .

Pennsylvania, York County

On this 31st day of July 18020, personally appeared, in open court, John
Beatty, aged 65 years, resident in said county, who being first duly sworn,
according to law, doth, on  his Solemn oath declare that he served in
Revolutionary war as follows:

viz., In the 6th Pennsylvania Regiment commanded by Col. Irvin in the company
commanded by Capt. Abraham Smith of the Pennsylvania line from February 1776
until February 1777 that the date of his original application for a pension
is April 8th 1818 and the number of his pension certificate 12, 435.

And I do solemnly Swear that I was a resident of the United States, on the
18th day of March, 1818; and that I have not since that time, by gift, sale,
or in any manner, disposed of my  property, or any part thereof, with intent
thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of the act
of congress, entitled " An act to provide for certain persons engaged in the
land and naval service of the United States, in the Revolutionary war,"
passed on the  18th day of March 1818; and that I have not, nor has any
person in trust for me, any property, or securities, contracts, or debts, due
to me; nor have I any income other than what is  contained in the schedule
hereto annexed, and by me subscribed.

Viz., one tin plate Stove value $14.00 one shirt value $1.00 - 3 Chairs $1.50
- one table  $1.00 Some five articles of kitchen furniture value $3.00 - my
occupation is that of a  labourer, but I am in ill health and unable to do
much - I have two daughters who live with me one nine years and the other
twelve years of age  I have no friends or relatives in  this Country who are
in a Situation to afford me any assistance

Sworn to, and declared, on the 31st day of July 1820 before George Barnet.

STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA
   York County, ss.

I, William Barber, clerk of the court of common please, for said county,
(being a court of record) do hereby certify, that the forgoing affidavit and
the schedule thereto annexed, are truly copied from the record of the said
court; and I do further certify, that it is the opinion of the said court
that the total amount in value of the property exhibited in the aforesaid 
schedule is twenty dollars and fifty cents.

In testimony thereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed the seal of
the said court, at York, on the 31 day of July 1820.
