Certificate of Pension issued on the 17th day of April and back to 1834.... York County One this eighth day of April in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty four Personally appeared in open court in the court of Common Pleas in and for the County of York, Michael Coppenhaffer, a resident of Conawaga Township York county in the state of Pennsylvania aged seventy six years, who being first duly sworn according to law saith, and doth make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefits of the provisions made by the act of Congress passed the seventh June eighteen hundred and thirty two. That he _____ the service of the United States, under the following named officer and served as _______ after stated. To wit, that he continued the serving at York Pennsylvania as a volunteer in the company of volunteers commanded by York Harbaugh, on or about the first day of July seventeen hundred and seventy six, - that he remained as a member of Capt. Harbaugh's company through Lancaster to Philadelphia, that they went from there in a vessel to Trenton New Jersey, and there marched through N. Jersey to Amboy. From Amboy they marched to Bergen, that at Elizabeth Point he enlisted into the Flying Camp in the comapny commanded by Capt. Michael Smyser in the regiment of Col. Michael Swopes for the term of six months, that he served the whole time of the six months for which he enlisted, that he has no discharge, that at the time Capt. Swope was taken prisoner, he was laying sick in the neighborhood of fort Lee, that he lived in the County of York at the time he volunteered, but was a _______ of Lancaster County in this state, of that part, now Lebanon County. That he humbly relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except this present, and declares that his name is not on this pension roll of the agency of any state, and further saith not. [sig] Michael Coppenhaffer Sworn to and subscribed this day and year aforesaid in open court as aforesaid. Walter Franklin Yourk County, State of Penna: Personally appeared in open court in the Court of Com. Pleas of York County on the eighth day of April eighteen hundred and thirty four Andrew Smith, aged eighty six years, who upon his solemn oath taken according to law saith that he enlisted from York, York County, Penna. as a colunteer in the company of Capt. Yost Harbach in the early part of July seventeen hundred and seventy six, to Phila. through Lancaster from there to Trenton, N.J. in a boat, or vessel and marched from there to Amboy and Bergen. That Michael Coppenhaffer the above applicant was a member of said company, & marched with them, and that after they had arrived at Bergen or in that neighborhood he Michael Coppenhaffer enlisted in the Flying Camp, and marched to .....
