All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Nancy Poquette npoq@hotmail.com August 24, 2006, 12:17 pm Pension Application Of Conrad Miller, Natl Archives Microseries M804, Roll #__, Application #R7180 York County, Pennsylvania, October 16th, 1834, Conrad Miller, aged 80 years: ‘That about the 1st of July, 1776, he volunteered to serve for 3 months as drummer in Captain Long’s company at York state of Pennsylvania and was attached to Colonel Swope’s battalion and marched through Lancaster and Chester Counties, and from thence to Trenton, Princeton and Newark in the state of New Jersey, and Amboy, and duly served out the time for which he engaged and then was discharged ____ ____ ____ at Newark in the state of New Jersey by Captain Long.” “2nd-That on the 1st of September in the year 1777, he volunteered to serve in Captain Zollinger’s company at York in Colonel McAllister’s regiment and marched to Lancaster, and was there put under the command of Colonel Morgan until we joined the army near Brandywine, and then marched to Brandywine and put under the command of Captain Williams in Colonel Rankin’s regiment and that he duly served out the term for which he volunteered ____ ___ ____ that he served for 3 months or more during that tour and was then discharged by Captain Williams at Valley Forge in the state of Pennsylvania, and that he served at least altogether, six months in the army of the Revolution.” “I have no documentary evidence nor do I know of any person now living whose testimony I can get to prove my services except Felix Waggoner.” Interrogatories: I was born in York County, PA in the year 1754 to the best of my belief. I have no record of my age. I lived in York County when called into service and have lived in York County ever since the Revolutionary War. I volunteered each time. I was not acquainted with any of the regular officers who were in service at the time I served. ___ I recollect . I was acquainted with Captain M. Daniel, Captain Spangler and Captain Smyser, militia officers of colonel Swope’s battalion.
