J. A. Hildebrand, the popular proprietor of the Red Lion hotel, is having the hotel building completely renovated and remodeled. The convenience of the house are also being improved by putting in new steam heating fixtures, which will greatly add to the comfort of guests. A four-horse team, driven by C. H. Douglas, became frightened this morning and ran away, the wagon being demolished after striking a corner of the York Southern freight depot. The driver escaped with only a rough shaking-up. PERSONALS. Mr. W. Latimer Small, of the firm of P. A. & S. Small, left for Baltimore Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs. A. Bellak, of this city, are registered at the Colonial Hotel in Philadelphia. Mr. Charles Welsh left Thursday on a fishing trip to the Falls of the Susquehanna. Mr. George A. Myers, the well-known druggist, of Dallastown, was a business visitor to York Wednesday. Mr. J. G. Eisenhart, the popular carpet dealer of North George street, left for the Monumental city Thursday. Mr. Milton D. Martin, proprietor of the Martin Carriage Works, left for the South Thursday on a business trip. Mr. George L. Neuman, of the firm of R. L. Neuman & Sons, has left on a ten day's visit to Philadelphia in the interest of the firm. Mr. Lewis Ness, of the firm of Ness Bros. & Co., left for Baltimore and Richmond. Mr. Jacob Bellak returned home Wednesday from a three days' visit to New York, where he attended his brother's wedding. Alderman C. F. Keech and Constable Charles White, of the Eighth ward, returned Wednesday from a visit to Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Davis, of No. 1- South Beaver street, who have been taking an extended pleasure tour, arrived home on Tuesday evening. SOWERS-BUPP. - October 29, 1899, in Spring Grove, at the Lutheran parsonage, by Rev. Fred S. Geesey, Mr. Lewis F. Sowers and Miss Bertha Bupp, both of York. BEFORE THE ALDERMAN. Henry Arnold and Robert Nick, the two boys aged 9 and 11 years, arrested for stealing scrap iron at Baugher, Kurtz & Stewart's had a hearing before Alderman N. C. May last night. The alderman held the case under advisement.
