A large number of her friends formed a party in honor of the event. Refreshments were served and a most delightful time was spent. Those present were: Mrs. Emanel Beochel, Mrs. Edward Blauser, Mrs. Henry Miller, Mrs. George Miller, Norman Miller, Jr., Mrs. George Stine, George Stine, Jr., Mrs. Mary Ness, Mrs. James Brillinger, George Brillinger, Jr., Mrs. Effie E. Stine, Mrs. Henry Keesey, Mrs. Adam Young, Mrs. Frank Buchar, Mrs. Ead Hildebrand, Mrs. Lusie Kuich, Miss Annie Kuich, Miss Emma Kuich, Mrs. Carthren Weitzel, Mrs. Ellen Jones, Miss Estella Zeigler, Miss Daisy Armprister, Mrs. Lidia Strickler, Mrs. Henry Dietz and Mrs. Emanuel Frey. ARRIVED AT HAMBURG. Mrs. David E. Smith, of East Market street, received a cablegram this morning from her daughter, Mrs. F. G. Gotwalt, who with her husband and little son were passengers on the steamer Patria, which was burned in the English channel, saying that they arrived at Hamburg, (Germany) safely. MARRIED BY ALDERMAN STAGER. Edgar Willis and Mary F. Zeigler were married Wednesday afternoon by Alderman Stager. The contracting parties are from Altoona. The marriage license was taken out in this city. PERSONALS. Jacob Shenk, of York Springs, is visiting George Shenberger, of East York. Martin Rodawig, druggist in the employ of Dale & Co., left for a trip to Philadelphia. Henry Dusman, of East York, spent Thursday in Philadelphia visiting the export exposition. Alderman N. C. May and son Luther, left for Philadelphia Thursday to take in the exposition. Miss Ida White, of Mt. Carmel, Pa., is the guest of Mrs. Emma Constantine, 345 West King street. Mrs. Smyser Williams and daughter, Miss Etta, left yesterday for Philadelphia to visit the Export exposition. Mr. Joseph Leib, district freight and passenger agent of the Western Maryland railroad, is off on a short vacation. Mr. Harry Strine, a member of the Laurel Fire company, left Thursday for Philadelphia, where he has accepted a position. Miss Marie Weiser is visiting Miss Louise W. Curtin, of 3100 North Nineteenth Street, Philadelphia, for a few weeks. Mrs. L. J. Darden and son, Wilbur, of Beachwood Heights, Wyncote, are stopping at No. 331 West Philadelphia street. White Rose Castle, No. 182, K. G. E., will hold a boom session on Monday night, when a large class will be initiated. Miss Lydia Walker left on the 2.36 train Friday afternoon for Baltimore, Md., where she will spend the next few weeks visiting friends. Anderson, of Stewartstown, York county, to Miss Agnes M. Grove, of Brogueville, York county. DIED ARNOLD - On November 17, 1899, at 7:30 a.m. Sadie Arnold, aged 21 years and 8 months. HUBLEY - On Thursday, November 15, 1899, Henry Hubley, of Thomasville, aged 64 years, 11 months and 14 days. STRICKLER - On November 17, 1899, at 6:30 p.m., Arthur Winfield Strickler, infant son of Latimer D. and Lillie M. Strickler, at his parents' residence in Pleasureville, from membraneous croup, aged 1 year, 8 months and 4 days.
