York Lodge of Elks has 170 members, and has had no deaths the past year and only five since its organization twelve years ago. A Sunday-school convention will be held in St. Paul's Church, New Baltimore, on Saturday evening and Sunday next. All are invited. An oyster supper for the benefit of St. Joseph's Catholic Church will be held in the hall on Baltimore Street, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Ziegler's Orchestra will furnish music. A ten-dollar bill was lost in Hanover the other night, and it stayed lost; but in Glen Rock we read that Duncan Belcher lost a ten dollar note, which was promptly returned by the finder. Congressman Lafean went to Washington on Saturday to attend the extra session of Congress, and the York Press says he will make it his special endeavor to have pensions granted to all old soldiers who deserve them. "A Homespun Heart," a rural drama with some very realistic touches, was presented at the York Opera House Saturday afternoon and night to fair sized audiences. The story is one of heart interest and was apparently told in a pleasing way, judging from the applause given. - York Daily. PERSONAL MENTION. Dr. J. S. Ziegler, of Melrose, was in town to-day. S. A.
