Bushey Will Go to Camden C.K. Bushey, for more than eleven years clerk in M.W. Britcher’s Drug Store, who in January passed the pharmaceutical examination of the State of New Jersey, has accepted the position of Manager of the drug store owned by Dr. Harry Bushey, in Camden, N.J., and expects to leave for Camden, shortly before April 1st. During his residence in Dillsburg Mr. Bushey has made many warm friends, not only among the residents of the town, but in the entire community, by reason of his uniform courtesy and careful attention to his employer’s business. Mr. Bushey has always been active in Church work, interested in the I.O.H., of which he has been treasurer for some years, and an active member of the P.O.S. of A., and is at present Secretary of the School Board, and was the Treasurer of the Board during the erection of the new school building. The best wishes of his hosts of friends will go with him to his new home and new business connections and all wish him success and prosperity. Delivered Insurance Checks Ira L. Heikes had delivered to Mr. and Mrs. Amos Chronister, of Wellsville, two checks from the Mutual Life Insurance Company, of New York, for $1000 each and accured earnings on the life of their son, Luther P. Chronister, who died several weeks ago. The oldest policy was in force less than five years and the other policy was taken out in March 1914. Next Tuesday evening the grand Bazaar of the Citizen’s Band, of Dillsburg, will begin in the Dillsburg Opera House and continues until Saturday, the 11th, inclusive. This promises to be a big event and visiting bands and fire companies are expected every evening during the week. Those out for a good time will want to be present as many evenings as possible. Palatable refreshments will be served. Bought a Property Irvin Bittinger has purchased from Mrs. Jennie Wolf, of Be…, the property of her mother, the late Mary A. Gable, on the road from Dillsburg to Rossville. Mr. Bittinger will make some improvements to the property. Lost A note payable to Chas. Harlacher, between Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon. The note was lost between Wellsville and Harrisburg. Reward if returned to Chas. Harlacher, Dillsburg, Pa. Miss Ella Moore, of Delta, is spending some time at the home of Mrs. Josephine F. Bailey. Mr. H.E. Ensminger is spending some time in Reading, the guest of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Harding. Mr. and Mrs. W. Sheaffer spent Thursday in Carlisle, visiting Mr. J. W. Harman, who is ill with cancer. A petition is being circulated in Dillsburg for signers in the interests of Jas. G. Glessner, Esq., for Republican National Delegate. The mule business in this vicinity is brisk. Charles Altland on Friday shipped the fifth carload within six weeks. They are sent to Richmond, Virginia. Mrs. Kate Berkheimer spend a few days as the guest of her sister, Mr. B.F. Hoffman and family, at Harrisburg. C.A. Lonkert, of Enola, was in Dillsburg calling on friends last Saturday. About five weeks ago, while at work at S…Elton, Mr. Lonkert had one of the bones of his left arm broken and since was off duty. He had only been at work a few hours at his new position when the accident happened. He was a beneficiary of the State workmen’s compensation act. John E. Arnold, of Selins Grove, spent Sunday and Monday with Dillsburg friends. Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Schriver and J. M. Karns were in Harrisburg, Tuesday, on account of the death of a brother-in-law, Mr. Bennett. Robert Fickel and wife, of Harrisburg, spent Sunday with Dillsburg friends. Mr. W.A. Nickles, Superintendent of the Memorial Lutheran Sunday School addressed Professor Stewart’s Sunday School Class last Sunday morning. Misses Irene and Alice Huber, spent Saturday at their homes in Harrisburg. Rev. Mr. Barlow, of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church conducted the prayer-meeting service on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Herr was a Carlisle visitor over Sunday. Dr. and Mrs. Lehman attended the banquet of the Pittsburg Alumni Association at the Fort Pitt Hotel last Saturday night. The principal speakers were J.L. McCaskey, ’77, Rev. S.H. Piper, ’94 and Dr. Lehman. The Normal School is planning a rather elaborate Shakespeare celebration to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Poet’s death. Scenes from “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Merchant of Venice” and “Macbeth” will be given. Special costumes will be secured. The program will be given early in the week, beginning April 23rd. Albert J. Conradt, of Chicago, has come to Normal to take charge of the classes in manual training. He is a man of wide experience and will undoubtedly be very successful in his work. Found Some money. The crop for the month was one hundred eleven and a half dozens. Mr. Tritt has no pullets in his flock, all being one, two and three years old, and few are pure bred, all being bred with a view to large egg production. Oyster Supper The Ladies’ Aid of Filey’s will hold an Oyster Supper, at the home of D.W. Bealmans, March 14. Oysters, Ice Cream, Cake and other delicacies will be served.
