Fire, which was evidently of incendiary origin, destroyed the barn, carriage shed and corn crib of Rev. U. G. Seifert, near Rossville, shortly after noon, Monday. Mr. Seifert and a son had gone to Mechanicsburg with the team, while Mrs. Seifert and another son, aged about fifteen years, who was ill with the measles, were at home. The fire was first seen in the straw mow and neighbors, who saw the fire, gathered and got out the automobile and some of the implements. The buildings and their contents, hay, straw, corn, oats, etc., were entirely consumed. Mr. Seifert had only a nominal insurance, the carriage house, which was newly erected, was uninsured and other improvements, which included a tin roof on the barn, put on not long ago, makes a heavy loss for Mr. Seifert. C. E. Social A St. Patrick’s Day Social was held at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Porter, last Thursday evening, by the Christian Endeavor Society of Monaghan Presbyterian Church. Various games and diversions were engaged in and delicious refreshments were served to the guests, who numbered about thirty. A Farewell Reception Mr. H. L. Miller and Mr. C. K.
