Mr. and Mrs. Hower, of Lemoyne, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Stoll. Miss Naomi Brenneman, who is spending some time at the Brenneman's, spent the week-end with friends in Dillsburg. Mr. and Mrs. George Bentz will remove their household effects to the Shapley farm in the near future, where they will engage in agricultural pursuits. Mr. and Mrs. Bonner and daughter, of Lewisberry, and Mr. M. L. Warner, of this place, were guests of Elsworth Warner and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cook, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Speck, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Brenneman composed an auto party who attended the Hagerstown Fair. Thursday evening a number of friends and neighbors gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Williams. The evening was spent in snitzing apples preparatory to an apple butter boiling, Friday. They were as follows: Mrs. Howard Whiting, Mrs. Michael Slothower, Mrs. Harvey Shaffner, Mrs. Levi Laughman, Mrs. Will Hu-- , Misses Cora Hess, Mabel and Zelma Slothower, Earl and Richard Williams, Lester and Earl Slothower, Bruce Barnes and John X. Smith. After work was done refreshments were served, consisting of cake, candies and cider, after which all returned to their homes, well pleased with the enjoyable evening.
