The police authorities of Spring Garden township are making an effort to break up the parking on out of the way places in the township. Damaging complaints have reached the ears of the officials of the township and they are making an effort to break up the spooning places. Among those arrested early Sunday morning was Charles Miller, Dover R. 2. The pupils of the Dover schools will not be permitted to sell any product except Red Cross Christmas seals. The services of Fred Straley to lead the orchestra were secured for the following school term. Henry Shaffer, road supervisor, was ordered to remove fences and trees along Mayfield street so as to make the street the proper width. The expense of this work is to be charged to the property owners. F. A. Myers and Mr. March were notified to lay pavements along their properties on South Main street. The street light committee was instructed to place three additional lights. The following bonds were ordered paid on November 1: No. 3, H. U. Baughman; No. 9, H. U. Baughman; No. 20, Lillie Ramer; No. 22, James Zinn. The followoing bills were ordered paid: Henry Shaffer, labor, $7; D. S. Brillhart, labor; Edwin Stough, caring for pump and labor, $11.05. The treasurer's report is as follows: Balance in treasury September 2, 1930, $3,471.61; expenses, $91.37; water rents received, $31.63; balance, $3,411.87. An old time serenade was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Raffensperger in honor of their son, Willis. Clayton Alvin Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curvin Johnson, and Hazel Dorothy Julius, daughter of Mrs. Annie Julius, all of this place, were married in Salem Union church, Thursday by the pastor, the Rev. J. was used. They were attended by H. Hege. The single ring ceremony labor, $11.05. The treasurer's report (Transcriber's note: Typed as written) Richard Smith, son of Warren H. Smith, who, while riding a motorcycle down the Baltimore 'pike a few weeks ago, collided with a culvert and was taken to Hanover hospital, was brought home by his grandfather, Michael Smith. Mr. and Mrs. John Hass and Mrs. Edna Erney visited Mrs. Haas's granddaughter, Mrs. Lloyd Neiman, who is confined to a Harrisburg hospital. Mrs. Neiman was formerly Miss Ellen Artzberger, of this place. Nellie Gross, nine-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gross, was removed to her home on Sunday by Raymond Bievenour from the West Side sanitarium. Nellie underwent an operation for appendicitis, tonsils and adenoids. H. Clair Brenneman has been confined to bed suffering from painters' colic. He is employed as a painter for his father, Samuel Brenneman. Mr. and Mrs. George Leckrone announce the birth of a son on Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Stouch are the possessors of a red beet which they raised in their garden this summer weighing 9 pounds. It has a circumference of 26 inches. Mrs. Aaron Boyer has been conned to bed by illness. Mrs. Samuel Nace, 53, mother of Mrs. Harry Aldinger, Dover, died Saturday at Hellam. Abraham J. Adams, 31, brother of J. Howard F. Adams, Dover, died Monday at Bath, New York.
