Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Schurr and Mrs. Alice McIntire, former parishioners of Rev. Oliver K. Maurer’s church at Linfield, Pa., are visitors at the parsonage of St. John’s Reformed church. Miss Estella Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hoffman, Red Lion, a member of the junior class at Hood college, Frederick, Md., was recently elected manager of the Debating club for the year 1931-32. Miss Hoffman is the business manager of the Blue and Grey, the college weekly newspaper; a member of the Contemporary club, and is on the staff of the Herald, the literary publication. At a special meeting of the borough school board, Thursday evening, orders were granted for the salaries of the teachers for the closing month of the term, and other routine business transacted. Directors present were: Harry P. Keller, W. P. Diehl, John H. Fisher and Harry Kauffman. Mr. and Mrs. Mason G. Peters and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Duncker were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. William Cross, Saginaw. The Ladies’ Aid society of St. James’ Lutheran church will meet at the home of Mrs. Wesley Sipe, Tuesday evening. Edward Ehrhart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ehrhart, who under went an operation at the West Side sanitarium, returned home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Curvin Kessey and children, Pauline, Flo and Preston, Joseph Rohrbach and Dorothy Wilhide, York, were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mundis, Highmount. Among the students to receive a diploma at the State Teachers college, Millersville, will be Miss Margaret Holtzinger, of Highmount, Hellam township. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Kibbler, Susan Melhorn, Mt. Wolf; Mary Bailey, Baltimore, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Diehl. M. E. Barley has returned from Williamsport, where he attended the convention of the Pennsylvania Motor Federation. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ruby announce the birth of a son. DOUBLE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION HELD AT STOVERSTOWN Stoverstown, May 24 – Mrs. Harvey A. Senft, this place, celebrated the 50th anniversary of her birth on Sunday, and her granddaughter, Delorys Nace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Nace, Hanover, will celebrate her fifth anniversary, Monday, May 25. A double birthday anniversary dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Senft, Sunday. The table was decorated for the occasion with two birthday cakes. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Harvey A. Senft and children, Paul and Esther Mae, Stoverstown; Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Nace and daughter, Delorys, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Marshal, Hanover; Mr. and Mrs. George Nace and daughter, Sterling, Raymond Stauffer, Brodbecks; Mr. and Mrs. Steward Yohe and children, Martha Russel, and Martin, this place; Misses Catherine and Rachel Senft, Thomasville; Mrs. John Senft, and Mrs. Stewart Senft, Stoverstown.
