Simon J. Barnhart, of Pleasant Hill, received a paralytic stroke on Wednesday evening, and he lay helpless in his house until found by neighbors the following day. Mr. Barnhart lives alone and some time during the evening he was stricken, his left side being affected and he was rendered speechless. On this account, he was unable to attract the attention of neighbors, and he lay helpless until discovered. Dr. J. F. Norris was called to attend the sick man, and he is now resting comfortably, though his condition is serious. Friday morning he recovered consciousness, and gave particulars of his sudden affliction. About two years ago Mr. Barnhart received a stroke of paralysis affecting his left side in a similar manner.
