Bechtel came to town yesterday morning and began drinking. He was warned several times by officers to have his horse put up and fed. These warnings he ignored until late in the afternoon when he was placed in his vehicle and it was supposed he had gone home. Later he was seen drunk and disorderly, and arrested as stated. He was released next morning, but then arrested again, for cruelty to animals. He was fined $10 by Justice Sell, which was paid. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, October 5, 1912
