All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ Scaffold Falls – Carpenter Killed John Brooks, of near Gatchelville, was killed, almost instantly, and William Donahue, of near St. Paul’s church, was seriously injured, when a scaffold on which they were working, broke and precipitated them to the ground, a distance of 26 feet. The accident occured on the farm of Thomas B. McDonald of near Norrisville. Both men are carpenters and were engaged on the erection of a new barn for Mrs. McDonald. When the scaffold gave way both fell backward and alighted on their heads. Both were unconscious when assistance reached them. Brooks lived only a few minutes.
