All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ Woman Fugitive for Five Years A fugitive from Justice for the past five years, Mrs. Mildred Cartledge, formerly of York, was arrested Monday in Lowell, Mass., by Detective Albert Metzel, of York, charged with throwing vitriol upon Miss Cora Krout, whom she suspected of intimacy with her husband, Francis J. Cartledge. The assault took place on June 15, 1907, on North Broad Street, York, shortly at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and was witnessed by a number of persons. Mr. Cartledge was at the time a superintendent at the York Knitting Mill, where Miss Krout was employed as an operative. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, August 17, 1912
