His death came almost on the eve of the date fixed for his wedding. It was stated by relatives and friends that Mr. Clickinger, had he lived, would have been married shortly to a York woman. Clickinger’s death obligates the W. A. Eberle Wheel works, where the man met with an accident that caused his death, to comply with the terms of the workmen’s compensation act, which went into effect Jan. 1, last. The establishment is the first York concern to become liable for a death under the new law. The Eberle company will have to pay the expense of the victim’s treatment at the York hospital and the funeral expenses, not exceeding $100. As there are no dependent relatives of Clickinger, the firm is relieved from further compensation. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, February 5, 1916
