Ditzler Were Married Thirty-Five Years Ago A happy family reunion was held for several days during this week at the home of Daniel H. Ditzler and wife, No. 206 East Middle street, the occasion being the celebration of their 35th wedding anniversary. Thirty-five year ago, Rev. W. F. Colliflower, then pastor of the Reformed congregation at New Oxford, united in marriage Daniel H. Ditzler and Miss Mary Ruff. For ten years Mr. and Mrs. Ditzler were successful farmers, near New Oxford. During this time Mr. Ditzler taught school during the winter months. Giving up farming, he devoted nearly all his time to education, having taught for twenty-six terms in the schools of Adams county. The family then moved to Hanover, where for the pat thirteen years Mr. Ditzler has been employed in the offices of the Hanover and Penn flour mills. He is serving his seventh term as Secretary of the Borough Council, and his first term of six years in the School Board. He is an elder in Emmanuel Reformed church. In all there activities and during all these years, Mrs. Ditzler has been a faithful and devoted wife and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Ditzler had seven children, two of whom died in infancy. The five who survived are all following religious and educational work. Rev. Irwin S. Ditzler, pastor of Emmanuel Reformed church, New Berlin, Pa.; Rev. John A. Ditzler, pastor of St. Paul’s Reformed church, Selingsgrove, Pa.; Miss Clara Ditzler, private secretary in the office of the Home Furniture Co., York; Miss Anna Ditzler, teacher in the Hanover public schools, and Edwin Ditzler, a student in Susquehanna University, Selingsgrove.
