Chair 169 Years Old.

William E. Frock, of No. 503 York street, has in his possession a chair 169 
years old.

The chair, which is made of apple wood, was manufactured in Berham, Germany, and 
is in a fine state of preservation.  It is not painted and the wood shows the 
marks and ridges made by the knife when it was made.  It is almost twice the 
weight of a chair made at this date.

This remarkable piece of antiquity was bought by the present owner in 1893 at 
the sale of the late Jacob Yost, of Carroll county, Md., who was in the eighties 
when he died.  The chair was bought in the German city by his grandfather and 
later brought to this country.
