Fry, who was a widower, lived on the farm of his brother at Martinsville. He went to hive some bees that had swarmed along one of the field fences. In some manner not known he disturbed them and they attacked him. After being stung once or twice, Fry took refuge in flight. An outbuilding not more than 100 feet distant he gained in safety and closed the door. His sister-in-law, who had witnessed the flight, after about ten minutes had elapsed and Fry not appearing went to the outbuilding and on opening the door, discovered his dead body. He had been stung in only a few places. Dr. N. Allen Overmiller, who was summoned, made an examination of the body and pronounced death due to organic heart disease, the immediate cause being the excitement and fright attending the man’s flight from the bees.
