The girl walked the entire distance Monday in the intense heat of the sun, and had nothing to eat all day. Motorman Lee Sechrist and Conductor Henry Crist, in charge of the trolley car, noticed the girl along the tracks, acting strangely. She was recognized by a resident of York. On the return trip leaving Hanover at 10 o’clock, Motorman Sechrist kept a sharp lookout, fearing that he might run over the girl. At the New Baltimore, station he noticed the girl lying on the platform with her feet on the ground. She was then unconscious. She was carried into the car and taken to York. The ambulance met the trolley car at Centre Square and the girl was taken to City hall, and later to the hospital. When questioned as to what she was doing in that part of the county the girl is said to have told the police that her parents had a quarrel, and drove her from home. The hospital authorities stated that the girl was suffering chiefly from exhaustion, and would be discharged from the institution some time today.
