Little Struck By Team While Crossing The Street. Mrs. Lydia Little, aged 74 years, widow of the late William H. Little, of 313 High Street, met with a serious accident on Saturday evening, about 7:30 o’clock. She was on her way home after spending some time with her sister, Mrs. Annie Sanders and Mrs. Sarah Johns, of 208 High Street, and in crossing the street she was knocked down and run over by a team driven by Ira Miller, son of Rev. C. J. Miller, of York Road. Mrs. Little was accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Jesse Sell, and nieces, Mrs. Clayton Sell and Mrs. John Rhodes. Observing her two grand children, Mrs. Clarence Folmer and Mrs. Ephraim Menchey, on the opposite side of the street, she was in the act of crossing over, in front of the residence of her son, John H. Little, when Mrs. Sell called to her that a team was coming. The aged lady, however, did not hear, and she was thrown to the ground and the wheels passed over her limbs. In an unconscious condition she was carried into the house of John Hostetter, nearby, and Dr. H. M. Alleman, was summoned. Upon examination it was found that Mrs. Little received a severe bruise on the left side of her head, and her left eye is badly swollen. No bones seem to be broken. There is no blame attached to Mr. Miller, as he was not driving rapidly and the accident was unavoidable. Mrs. Little only recently returned from a visit to relatives at Erie, Pa.
