Mitzel, a farmer residing near Winterstown, had the vehicle wrecked and himself so badly hurt that he was taken to the hospital. He was able to go home, however, yesterday. Mr. Mitzel was in York, on business. Coming up Market street from the West End on his way home about 6 o'clock he turned his horses into North Water street and managed to get too close to the rails. The 5:55 train from the south came along, caught the rear of the wagon and frightened the horses. The horses ran away, collided with a telegraph pole, wrecked the vehicle and landed Mr. Mitzel headforemost on the curbing. Policemen picked him up and he was taken to the office of Dr. W. F. BACON and subsequently to the hospital with a scalp wound and a number of scratches. He remained there until yesterday, when he was discharged, being able to drive home. The horses were uninjured and taken to a hotel stable. The Gazette - Monday, November 14, 1910
