Child Smothered

Becoming restless while suffering from the heat on Tuesday, William, the four-
months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Altland, of York Haven, rolled over, 
buried his face in the pillow and smothered.  The mother was absent from the 
room performing some household duties and it was some time before she visited 
the child, believing it to be asleep.

A local physician was notified of the death and he in turn summoned Coroner B. 
W. Shirey.  The coroner viewed the body and mad an investigation, but deemed an 
inquest unnecessary.
