Bair Melvin Monroe Bair, 61, husband of Mrs. Ruth Waltermyer Bair, 120 Baugher Drive, and owner of the Hanover Scrap Processing Co., died Saturday at 12:25 p.m. at the Hanover General Hospital after unexpectedly stricken ill. Bair, a native of Littlestown, was a son of Daniel and Roxie Flickinger Bair, 214 Poplar St. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. he was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, York St., and was affiliated with Hanover Elks Lodge, Hanover Lions club, Hanover Red Cross Chapter, Hanover Posts of Ambets, VFW and American Legion, Republican club of Hanover, Hanover Chamber of Commerce and the Hanover Moose and Eagle Lodges. Surviving are his wife, parents, two daughters, Mrs. Fay George, Killeen, Tex., and Julia McCaul, Washington, D. C.; three step- daughters, Mrs. Marlene Cramer, 86 Kevin Drive, York; Mrs. Norma Meiland, Berwick, and Mrs. Carol Lee Byer, York; two grandchildren, eight step- grandchildren, two brothers, Daniel Bair, 312 McKinley Ave., and Roger Bair, Hanover RD 7, and three sisters, Mrs. Vivian Eichelberger, Hanover RD 3; Mrs. Ruth Stough and Mrs. Doris Noel, Hanover RD 6. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Wetzel funeral home, 549 Carlisle St., with his pastor, the Rev. Jack Hoffman, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery.
