Bair, 49, husband of Kathleen J. Cromer Bair, Hanover RD 7, manager of the Hanover Scrap Processing Co., died at his home early this morning. He had been in ill health for some time. Born Feb. 29, 1928 in York, he was a son of Daniel and Roxie Flickinger Bair, 213 Poplar St. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, York St.; Hanover Eagles, McSherrystown Home Association; New Oxford Social Club; McSherrystown Moose; Hanover Elks; member and served on Board of Directors of the Republican Club; Hanover Home Association; lifetime member of the Midway Fire Co.; Hanover fire Co. No. 1: Hanover Chamber of Commerce; Hanover Chapter American Red Cross; and served with Company E. Hanover National Guard for four years. Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are two daughters, Mrs. Neil (Brenda) Becker, 14 E. King St., Abbottstown; Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Rohrbaugh, Hanover RD 7; five grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin M. Bair, 120 Baugher Drive; Daniel L. Bair, 312 McKinley Ave.; Roger M. Bair, Hanover RD 7; and three sisters, Mrs. Claude (Vivian) Eichelberger, Hanover RD 3; Mrs. Gene (Ruth) Stough, Hanover RD 6; and Mrs. Wilbur (Doris) Noel, Hanover RD 6. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., with the Rev. Jack Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
