Obituary

Mrs. Cecelia Barnhart

Mrs. Cecelia Leese Barnhart, widow of Cornelius Barnhart, died Sunday evening at 
9.15 o’clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Baumgardner, 3 Stuart 
avenue.  She was aged 86 years.  Mrs. Barnhart was a daughter of the late Mr. 
and Mrs. John Leese, and was born March 4, 1851.  Surviving her are 163 living 
descendants, including seven children, Mrs. Harvey Warner and Mrs. Horatio 
Wentz, Hanover RD 2; Mrs. David Baumgardner, with whom she was residing; 
Cleveland Barnhart, Hanover r. D. 1; Dallas Barnhart and Mrs. Tempest Berwager, 
Westminster, Md., and John C. Barnhart, Hanover R. D. 2; forty-one 
grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  The 
funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon with services conducted at the home at 
2 o’clock.  Further services will be held in St. David’s (Sherman’s) church.  
The Rev. A.M. Hollinger, pastor of the West Manheim Lutheran charge will 
officiate.  Burial will be made in St. David’s cemetery.
