The body was not found till Wednesday afternoon following. Mr. Bates had only one year ago, four healthy children. On the Fourth of July last, one of the boys had a finger blown off; about the middle of last July, another was scalded to death; a week or two since, another injured his hand in Farquhar's Machine Shop; and now this boy loses his life by drowning. Our whole people sympathize with this unfortunate family. Glen Rock Item, June 30, 1870, Glen Rock, York County, PA
