York - Adams Deaths

Alverta V. Baumgardner, 99, of 727 Frederick St., died Friday at 11 p.m. at her 
home.  her husband, Peter A. Baumgardner, died March 5, 1927.  She was a 
daughter of the late Jacob and Amelia Sell Unger.  She was a member of Christ 
United Church of Christ, near Littlestown.  Surviving are eight daughters and 
sons, Mrs. Margie N. Diehl, Taneytown; Fern E. Baumgardner, Mrs. Treva A. 
Hostetter, and Mrs. Leah M. Strausbaugh, all of Hanover; Mrs. Bernice R. Brown, 
Joliet, Ill.; Theron B. Barumgardner and Mrs. Gladys E. Wise, both of Hanover; 
Melvin R. Baumgardner, Nashville, Tenn.; 23 grandchildren; 65 great 
grandchildren; 27 great great grandchildren and two great great great 
grandchildren.  The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. from Littles’ Funeral Home, 
Littlestown, with the Rev. G. Howard Koons officiating in the absence of her 
minister.  Burial will be in Christ United Church of Christ Cemetery, near 
Littlestown.  Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening.
