Bechtel, widow of Albert Bechtel, late of Penn township, died at her home on Abbottstown street extended, at 1 o’clock a.m., Thursday, April 3d, from a complication of diseases, after a lingering illness. She was aged 47 years, 3 months and 14 days. The deceased had been an invalid for the past seven years. Mrs. Bechtel was a daughter of the late Jacob W. Frey, of Penn township, and was married about 27 years ago to Mr. Bechtel, whose death occurred in February. She leaves six children – Mrs. Spurgeon Amspacher and Misses Carrie, Edna and Emma, and Masters Chester and Alvin Bechtel, all at home. Her mother, Mrs. Mattie Frey, of this place, survives; also, five brothers – D. M. Frey, York street, Martin Frey, near Brushtown; Jacob Frey, Abbottstown street; John M. Frey, Walnut street; and two sisters, Mrs. Paul Krug, Carlisle street, and Mrs. John M. Kroh, Westminster, Md. Funeral Sunday, April 6th, services at her late home at 9 a.m., further services and interment at Bair’s meeting house, Revs. Daniel Stump and J. C. Miller officiating.
