BABY FOUND DEAD

Coroner to investigate Dead at Smith’s Station

Stella, the eight months old child of Cora Becker, a daughter of Solomon Becker, living in the 
Pigeon Hills, was found dead in bed, Thursday morning, December 26th.

The cause of the child’s death is unknown.  Dr. L. H. Sterner, of Porters, was asked to fill 
out a death certificate which he refused to do, owing to the fact that he had not seen the 
child before her death.

It is said that the family secured a coffin and will bury the child without a permit, as 
required by law.

Local Registrar of Vital Statistics, F. Y. Stambaugh, notified Coroner Shirey, of York, who 
will make an investigation.
