Becker, 56, husband of Mrs. Mary Shue Hempfing Becker, of 211 Princess St., died Sunday at 3:20 a.m. at Golden Age Nursing Home where he had been admitted Saturday. He had previously been a patient at York Hospital. A native of Hanover, he was a son of the late Ralph and Beulah Rohrbaugh Becker. His first wife, Mrs. Sarah L. Houser Becker, died in 1967. Becker belonged to the United Church of Christ Congregation at St. Paul’s (Dubs) Union Church. He had been an employee for 22 years at York Division of Borg-Warner Corp., and most recently employed by Hanover School District. Surviving also are three daughters, Mrs. Joan Kister, 13 Glendale Street; Mrs. Marian Dutterer, Hanover RD 1; Mrs. George Wisner, 377 Juniper Lane; two step children, Dale Hempfing, Glen Rock; Mrs. Larry Newcomer, Jamestown; four grandchildren and four step- grandchildren; a brother, Earl Becker, Seven Valleys; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Noble, Hanover RD2, and Mrs. Raymond Markle, Hanover RD3. His pastor, the Rev. Andrew Horn, will officiate at the funeral Wednesday at 2 p.m.from the Panebaker funeral home, 311 Broadway. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial may be made to York County Chapter of American Cancer Society, 28 S. Queen St., York. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
