Roy M. Bender - Farmer

Airville - Roy M. Bender, 76, of Airville, died at 10:25 Friday July 25, 1997 
at york Hospital. He was the husband of Evelyn M. (Brown) Bender. The couple 
observed their 54th wedding anniversary April 24.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Guinston United Presbyterian Church in 
Brouge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. 
Sunday at the Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, and 12:30 to 
1:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

Mr. Bender was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Chanceford Township. He was the son of 
the late Ellis G. and Margie (Montgomery) Bender.

He was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of Guinston United Presbyterian 
church, where he was a former trustee, a member of Friendly Sunday school 
class and served on the cemetery committee. He was a charter member of Brouge 
Lions Club and a member of York County Farmers Association.

Mr. Bender also is survived by three daughters. Donna J. Roller of Camp Hill, 
Patty J. Oberdorff of York and Wendy I. Ebersole of Red Lion; and four 
grandchildren.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. John R. Maisch.
