He was aged 57 years, 2 months and 22 days. Death was evidently caused by heart failure. The children, however, requested an inquest and Coroner Jones, of York, was notified. He ordered the body removed to the funeral rooms of Geo. W. Thomas Sons, stating he would arrive later in the day to hold an inquest. Up to this time the coroner has not reached Hanover. The deceased was twice married, his first wife being Miss Sarah Sauble, of Hanover, who died 23 years ago. In 1900 he married Miss Mabel Luckenbaugh, of this section, who survives together with the following children by the first marriage: Paul Bollinger, of Centennial avenue; Harvey Bollinger, of McCosh street; Edward Bollinger, of Waynesboro, and three children by the second marriage: Mamie and Annie Bollinger, of Hanover; Viola Bollinger, of Taneytown, and William Bollinger, of Westminster, Md. Also, a brother, George Bollinger, of York. Coroner Pius Jones of York, arrived in Hanover on the 4 o’clock car Monday evening to investigate the sudden death of Peter Bollinger, who was found in his room at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Becker in the Exchange Hotel, Five Points, at an early hour Monday morning. The coroner viewed the remains at the funeral room of George W. Thomas Sons and after a preliminary examination deemed an inquest unnecessary. Dr. Jones stated that the deceased had died from neuralgia of the heart. It was known that he was a sufferer from chronic heart trouble. Funeral Wednesday, July 26, at 2 p.m., from the home of his son, Harvey Bollinger, No. 38 McCosh street, where services were held by Rev. M. J. Roth. Interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
