All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ Jeremiah Bortner Jere Bortner, aged 92 years, 4 months and 26 days, the oldest resident of that section, died Wednesday, May 14th, at 10 p.m., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Bortner, at Green Ridge, Codorus township. He had been sick from ailments, peculiar to old age, since last December, being confined to bed nearly all of that time. He was a native of Glenville. Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. Devinney, Mrs. Bortner, with whom he lived, and a daughter in the West; two sons, Martin, Glenville; Edward, Blooming Grove. Also by two sisters, Mrs. Peter Smith, Codorus township, and Mrs. Adam Smith, York. Funeral, Saturday, at 1 p.m. Services and interment at the Stone church (St. Jacob’s), Rev. W. H.
