Brockley Following a brief illness from pneumonia, Elmer E. Brockley, a former Hanoverian, died at his late home in Conewago township, near Manchester, York county, on Sunday, at 5:30 a.m. He was aged 44 years, 3 months and 17 days. Mr. Brockley was a son of the late Samuel E. and Sarah (Mathias) Brockley and was born in Hanover, where his early life was spent. He was married to Miss Ida Reck, a daughter of Levi Reck, of Baltimore street, this place. He was a painter and paperhanger by trade. Eight years ago Mr. Brockley moved to Baltimore, later going to York, where he was employed at the Pullman motor car plant, for a number of years. Only last Monday the family moved on a small farm near Conley’s schoolhouse, thinking the outdoor life would be beneficial to his health. He was sick on the day they moved, and this later developed into pneumonia. The deceased leaves his wife and nine children. Also, two brothers, Joseph A. Brockley, of Walnut street, and Edwin R. Brockley, of Abbottstown St. The oldest daughter, Miss Mary Brockley, lives with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Brockley, Baltimore St. The remains were brought to Hanover over the Pennsylvania railroad on Wednesday, reaching here at 8:45 a.m., when they were taken in charge by Geo. W. Thomas’ Sons funeral directors, and conveyed to Mt. Olivet cemetery where services were held in the Forney-Bittinger memorial chapel, Rev. M. J. Roth, of Trinity Reformed church, officiating.
