Caldwell Charles Eugene Caldwell died at his home opposite Wirt Park Friday, June 2d, at 1:30 a.m. following an illness of three weeks from a complication of diseases. He was aged 38 years, 6 months and 19 days. The deceased was a son of John and Sarah Caldwell, of Railroad St. He was married 17 years ago to Miss Susan Krug, of Littlestown. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by three children, Robert, Stella and Edna Caldwell, all at home, and also the following brothers and sisters: Harry Caldwell, of York; Leo Caldwell, at home, and Morris Caldwell, of Gettysburg; Mrs. George Roelke, of Frederick; Mrs. Charles Baublitz, of North St., and Miss Gertrude Caldwell, at home. The deceased was a member of Constantine Castle No. 142, A. O. K. of M. C. and also of the Degree Team Association of the same lodge. Funeral, Monday, June 5th services at the house at 1 o’clock, interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, June 10, 1916
