Margaret R. Chandlee - April 1, 1996

School Teacher

Airville - Margaret Ruth Chandlee, 96, formerly of Sunnyburn, died at 11:25 
a.m. Monday at Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, 4263 
Delta Road, Airville. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Viewing will be 
noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. The Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. 
Broadway, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Chandlee was born Aug. 28, 1899, in Lower Chanceford Township. She was 
the daughter of Veazey and Jennie (Stokes) Chandlee.

Miss Stokes was a school teacher for 35 years for Lower Chanceford School 
District, where she taught in a one-room school in Sunnyburn and a Central 
School. She was a member of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, where she was a 
Sunday School teacher, and a member of Presbyterian Women Circle and Half 
Century Club. She attended West Chester Normal School.
Miss Chandlee is survived by a sister, Goldie M. Weaver of Frederick, Md.; and 
nieces and a nephew.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. James B. Shuler.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Organ 
Fund, 5 Pine Grove Road, Airville 17302.
