Colehouse, one of Hanover's prominent and esteemed citizens, died at his home, No. 24 Carlisle street, Saturday afternoon. His age was sixty-six years. Mr. Colehouse was suddenly stricken with paralysis on December 17, which affected his left side and rendered him unconscious, in which condition he remained until his death on Saturday. He is survived by an only daughter, Miss Cora Colehouse, at home; one brother, William Colehouse, and one sister, Mrs. George S. Kump, both of Littlestown. His wife died several years ago. COLEHOUSE Never Regained Consciousness After Being Stricken Monday Night. Rufus A. Colehouse, one of Hanover’s prominent and esteemed citizens, died at this home, No. 24 Carlisle street, Saturday afternoon, December 20, at 3 o’clock. His aged was 66 years, 3 months and 18 days. Mr. Colehouse was suddenly stricken with paralysis at 11 o’clock p.m. Monday, December 17, which affected his left side and rendered him unconscious, in which condition he remained until his death on Saturday. Mr. Colehouse was a son of the late James H. and Susan E. Colehouse, and was born in Littlestown. He is survived by an only daughter, Miss Cora Colehouse, at home; one brother, William Colehouse, and one sister, Mrs. George S. Kump, both of Littlestown. His wife died several years ago. The deceased came to Hanover 31 years ago, and engaged in the harness making business on Carlisle street, for a period of 25 years. About six years ago he retired from business, but took an active part in different institutions and social organizations in town. In addition to being a member of Emmanuel Reformed church, he was a director of the Peoples Bank, a director of Mt. Olivet Cemetery Association, a member of the Arcadian Social Club, of Hanover Lodge No. 1763, B. P. O. Elks, and a director and treasurer of the Hanover Heating Co. Mr. Colehouse was possessed of a genial nature, and he was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He took an active interest in civic affairs and was a candidate for Burgess on the Republican ticket, four years ago. Funeral Tuesday, December 23, services at his late home at 1:30 o’clock, Rev. A.
